    The Ohr HaTorah Experience

Centrally located in Hollywood, FL, our school nurtures, educates and empowers our students to embrace Torah values, respect others and contribute to the community through a balanced curriculum of Limudei Kodesh and college-preparatory general studies.
The educational philosophy of Samson Raphael Hirsch, Torah Im Derech Eretz, is the foundation on which we build our culture of success. This balance of Torah, Derech Eretz, and academic excellence, provided in a warm student-centered environment, has proven to be an effective combination for preparing students for personal and professional achievement.
Character building and midos are a central part of our curriculum. We teach by example. We believe if we treat our students with respect, they will treat others with respect as well. The two-way street goes beyond respect. If we believe in our students, they will believe in themselves. If they are held accountable, they will flourish. If they are offered opportunities and guidance, they can maximize their abilities. By identifying the potential in each student, nurturing their strengths and holding them to the highest standards attainable, our students will meet and exceed their own expectations and ours.

Relationships are an essential part of the Ohr HaTorah high school experience. We offer an open-door policy to create an environment which promotes ongoing dialogue and discussion between our students, our faculty and administration. Our students are encouraged to ask questions and our goal is to empower them to find the answers through discourse and text-based study. We understand the importance of communication and the role it plays in building confidence and long-lasting trusting relationships.
As a pro-Israel institution, we encourage our graduates to spend at least one year studying in top-quality Israeli yeshivot before continuing their education in colleges and universities such as Touro College and other qualified institutions of higher education.
Ohr HaTorah Yeshiva High School is a school designed to develop the next generation of male Orthodox Jewish leaders by molding our students into moral, caring, respectful, well-educated and contributing members of society through the prism of Torah and Halacha. Through a unique balanced blend of quality academics in both Limudei Kodesh and General Studies, we are nurturing future members of the Jewish community who are committed to a life of Torah and Yiddishkeit and are equipped with the skills and confidence to excel in both their personal and professional lives. Our goal is to provide confidence, passion and skills for lifelong learning and the problem-solving tools they will need to succeed as they choose their paths for the future.

With a full series of extra-curricular activities such as Shabbatonim, Mishmarim, fantastic trips, clubs, sports, and more, our Yeshiva will enrich the academic, social, and emotional needs of our student body!

With high academic expectations in both Limudei Kodesh and secular studies, along with focus and defined expectation of behavior and midot, set within a framework of a true Torah environment, we are able to offer that intangible “Je ne sais quoi” which only a yeshiva with a high level of personalized attention can supply.
We have adopted the following mission statement for our Yeshiva:

G-d fearing young men committed to a life of Torah – equipped with the skills and confidence to excel in the spheres of higher learning and the workforce: that’s our student. We aim to empower our students by helping them recognize their own gifts, appreciate their inherent worth as Torah Jews, and leave our doors with the tools to succeed in their divergent paths.

As a proud pro-Israel institution, we encourage our graduates to spend at least one year studying in top-quality Israeli Yeshivot before returning and receiving the best college education possible.
