As the only boys Yeshiva High School in the area to offer serious Torah study along with college-preparatory secular academics, Ohr HaTorah is a shining beacon of light. Our professionally run high school is laser-focused on scholastic development, personal growth, and ethical enrichment. Students receive an outstanding Judaic and secular education while growing and developing as committed Torah Jews. As a pro-Israel institution, we encourage graduates to study in Israel before launching their college careers. The overall Jewish population of South Florida is experiencing a huge surge. The resources of our local Jewish communities are being maxed out as never before. And more and more families are seeking exactly the kind of unique program offered by Ohr HaTorah. We need to join together to meet the urgent need posed by our growing community. Together we will prepare our sons to be strong, educated, moral Jewish leaders of the future.

With the opening somewhat delayed due to the pandemic, the Yeshiva opened its doors in Fall 2021 with two grades, 9th and 10th, operating out of limited rental space. In less than a year, Ohr HaTorah has already earned a reputation as a well-run school whose faculty and administration care deeply about their students. Parents report that their sons are thriving in ways they never could have imagined. The boys themselves are engaged, eager, and energized. The student-teacher relationships are open and respectful. The learning experience extends beyond the classroom with Shabbatons, trips, music lessons, athletics, clubs, community service, and other enriching activities.
Strength in Diversity
OHR HATORAH draws from the entire community, uniting boys from Ashkenazi and Sephardic heritage while enabling them to honor their particular community’s unique customs. Similarly, our faculty, board, and administration represent the varied and wonderful diversity of our community. By being strongly grounded in mutual respect for one another’s heritage, Ohr HaTorah models Ahavat Yisrael.
For Fall 2021, we were limited to only 20 students in two grades. This barely scratches the surface of meeting the extremely high level of interest in Ohr HaTorah. It’s urgent that we immediately establish a permanent and proper home to meet the educational needs of the community. To that end, we have acquired the property at 2300 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, Florida. The property, former site of a church, sits on approximately an acre and half of land. It includes a spacious 18,000 sq. ft. building and a large playing field in the back, with ample room for growth. After undergoing extensive renovations and improvements, Ohr Torah will be poised to open its doors to 100 students in Fall 2022.
